Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to perform mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll diagnose faults, deliver quick, confident solutions, and help keep members moving.

You’ll work independently, use the latest diagnostic tools, and benefit from a structured development pathway with IMI accreditation to grow your skills and advance your career.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults, solve problems and provide quick, confident solutions to members in need.
• Use the latest diagnostic technology to identify faults and get members back on the road safely.
• Work independently to diagnose faults and develop customers' journeys safely.
• Develop skills through a structured technical development pathway and IMI accreditation.

Education
