Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You will diagnose faults independently and help members continue their journeys safely.

The role offers a structured development pathway with hands-on learning and IMI accreditation, plus a competitive package with base pay and realisable OTE. Training and progression are emphasised throughout the career path.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in light vehicle maintenance or equivalent required.
• Entry path includes 2+ years' experience; senior path requires 5+ years' experience as a vehicle technician/mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults independently and provide quick, confident solutions for members.
• Use the latest diagnostic technology to identify faults and restore mobility.
• Provide outstanding customer service while ensuring member safety.

Skills

5+ years' experience as Vehicle Tech/3

Full UK driving licence (≤6 points)

2+ years' experience (entry path)

Education

NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
