Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to perform expert mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You will diagnose faults, provide confident solutions, and help members continue their journeys safely using the latest diagnostic technology.

You’ll work independently with 40-hour weeks on demand-led shifts, starting and finishing on your driveway, and you will benefit from a structured development pathway including IMI accreditation opportunities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults and provide quick, confident solutions to keep members moving.
• Work independently and use the latest diagnostic technology to identify faults.
