Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to join our Patrol division. You’ll diagnose, repair, and assist on the roadside across the UK, starting and finishing from your home base, with a dedicated RAC van and tools provided.

A Level 2 qualification and 2+ years of post-qualification experience are required, along with a full UK driving licence and a customer‑focused approach. Expect a base salary of £41,600 (London Weighting where applicable) with a realistic OTE of £66,000, plus bonuses and

• Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) with at least 2 years' post-qualification technical, electrical, and diagnostic experience.
• Customer-focused approach.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Tackle challenges head-on and provide quick, confident solutions for RAC members.
• Work with own RAC van, fuel card, and diagnostic kit to complete calls.
