Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician to perform mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You will diagnose faults, provide quick solutions and reassure members when they need help most.

You’ll work independently, apply diagnostic tools, and develop your skills through a structured pathway and IMI accreditation opportunities. A career with variety, autonomy and ongoing development awaits.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and vehicle diagnostics
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK
• Diagnose faults, solve problems, and help members continue their journeys safely
• Use the latest diagnostic technology to identify faults and get members back on the road
• Work independently to diagnose faults and make informed decisions

Education
