Job summary

The RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician to join our Patrol division across the UK. You’ll diagnose faults, perform roadside repairs and provide emergency breakdown support, helping members get back on the road quickly.

You’ll work independently, use the latest diagnostic tools, and combine technical expertise with strong customer service. Expect demand-led shifts, around 40 hours per week, with optional overtime.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• As a Roadside Technician, deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK
• Diagnose faults, solve problems and help members continue their journeys safely
• Use latest diagnostic technology to identify faults and get members back on the road quickly and safely
• Make decisions independently and develop skills with support from the company
• Seek greater variety and autonomy in a career beyond the workshop
