Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll diagnose faults, make quick, safe fixes and help members continue their journeys with confidence.

Starting from home driveway, expect demand-led shifts around 40 hours per week, with optional overtime. A structured development programme offers hands-on learning and IMI accreditation opportunities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults, solve problems and help members continue their journeys safely.
• Combine technical expertise with customer service using the latest diagnostic technology to identify faults and get members back on the road quickly.
