Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to perform mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You will diagnose faults, provide quick solutions, and help members continue their journeys safely with a high level of service.

With structured development and accreditation opportunities through IMI, the role offers substantial overtime potential, a generous base salary, and benefits tied to performance in a field-based patrol position.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and vehicle diagnostics.
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults quickly and confidently to get members back on the road.
• Work independently to diagnose faults and solve problems on the roadside.
• Develop customer reassurance and trust through technical proficiency.
