Job summary

Aviva plc, through its DLG Legal Services, is seeking a Litigation Claims Handler in Leeds for an 18-month secondment. You will manage a caseload of road traffic accident claims, assess liability and risk, gather evidence, and guide cases toward a fair outcome.

You’ll liaise with insurer clients and policyholders, explain court processes clearly, and ensure cases progress within court directions while maintaining service levels and quality client service.

Qualifications

• Claims handling experience in insurance or law firm.
• Knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules and Pre-Action Protocols.
• Clear communication skills by phone and in writing; explain legal information simply; manage claims via OCMC portal.
• Good organisation and ability to prioritise deadlines and workload.
• Experience using a case management system and meeting targets.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload of litigation road traffic accident claims.
• Assess liability, claim value and risk; gather evidence and decide next steps.
• Explain the court process to clients and policyholders; keep them updated.
• Work with insurer clients to ensure cases progress in line with court rules and directions.
• Balance high-quality client service with service level targets and efficient case management.
