Job summary

AECOM is hiring an Associate Risk Manager to join our growing UK team. You will lead risk management for major infrastructure programmes from London, Manchester, Birmingham or Bristol, advising on governance, risk controls and decision support.

You will work with internal and external stakeholders to develop robust risk frameworks, perform quantitative analyses, and mentor junior staff while travelling as needed across sectors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in risk management on complex projects and programmes.
• Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university or risk qualification (MOR, APM Risk, IRM).
• Proven experience in multi-discipline project environments.
• Experience with QCRA/QSRA using tools like Safran, Primavera Risk Analyser, @risk.
• Knowledge of ISO31000 and PMI/IRM methodologies.
• Experience leading a team of risk professionals.
• Willingness to travel across sectors.

Responsibilities

• Act as risk management lead for high value projects and programmes.
• Engage with project teams to implement risk management.
• Provide risk input to bids and proposals to secure work.
• Perform risk assurance checks for quality of risk management.
• Communicate risk data to senior leaders and stakeholders.
• Produce risk reports for informed decision making.
• Coach and mentor staff in risk practices.
• Facilitate risk identification, assessment and prioritisation.
• Develop Risk Registers, Risk Management Plans and Mitigation Plans.
• Conduct quantitative risk analysis using Monte Carlo methods.
• Design and implement risk management frameworks for projects and programmes.
• Support cost, scheduling, project controls and change management teams.
