SK ASSESSOR

Location: Office and site-based with travel to developments (travel expenses covered)

Contract: 3-month fixed-term contract, with potential to extend

Hours: Monday to Friday, full-time

The Role

We're working with Verto HR, a specialist provider of HR, training, and staffing solutions to the residential property management sector. Together with their clients, they manage the full range of site-based teams from individual caretakers to large, multi-skilled site operations across some of the UK's most prestigious residential schemes.

They are now seeking an experienced Risk Assessor to join the team on a short-term contract to complete a programme of focused risk assessments and compliance audits across their residential portfolio.

This is a hands‑on role requiring a qualified Health & Safety professional who can work independently, produce clear and detailed reports, and recommend practical, actionable improvements to ensure the safety and wellbeing of on‑site teams.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across multiple residential developments where site‑based staff are employed.
  • Deliver targeted assessments including: Lone‑working risk assessments, Sexual harassment risk assessments (relating to workplace conduct and environments), Health & Safety audits and documentation reviews.
  • Review, update, and maintain risk assessment documentation in line with current legislation and best practice.
  • Identify hazards, evaluate risks, and propose proportionate control measures in line with HSE guidance.
  • Liaise with site management, HR, and operational teams to gather data and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide evidence-based recommendations to reduce or eliminate identified risks.
  • Produce high‑quality written reports summarising findings and agreed actions.
  • Support the HR and Compliance team in ensuring safe working environments and legal compliance.
The Person

The ideal candidate will be a confident and methodical Health & Safety professional with strong practical experience conducting site‑based risk assessments in residential or facilities management environments.

Key Skills & Experience:
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) - essential.
  • Proven track record of carrying out risk assessments within residential property management, facilities management, or similar settings.
  • Excellent working knowledge of HSE regulations, GDPR considerations, and industry best practice.
  • Experience assessing risk related to lone working, harassment, and general site safety.
  • Strong written communication and report‑writing ability, with attention to accuracy and clarity.
  • Able to work independently, manage time effectively, and travel between sites.
  • Highly dependable, professional, and solutions‑focused.
  • Strong organisational skills, punctuality, and commitment to delivering work to the highest standards.
