Job summary

Demob Job Ltd. is recruiting for a client in the UK for an Electronics Repair Engineer based in Scotland.

The role involves diagnosing faults on RF transmitters and related communications equipment to component level, with initial training at a workshop in Wales where accommodation and expenses are provided. After training, the role is mainly Scotland-based with a mix of workshop repair and occasional field duties.

Qualifications

• Strong electronics engineering background with ONC/HNC or equivalent qualification.
• Experience diagnosing faults on PCBs down to individual components.
• Willingness to travel and stay away from home occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, fault find and repair RF transmitters and associated communications equipment to component level and carry out PCB repair, soldering, desoldering, rework and component replacement.
• Test, align and calibrate repaired equipment prior to returning it to service.
• Use electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators and spectrum analysers.
• Install, commission, maintain and upgrade communications systems and associated equipment.
• Support fault investigation and repair across customer and network sites when required.
• Participate in an out of hours support rota once fully trained.
