Demob Job Ltd. is recruiting for a well established business in Scotland seeking an Electronics Repair Engineer to diagnose faults on RF transmitters and related equipment, down to component level, rather than replacing whole boards.

The role blends workshop repair with occasional field work. Initial training occurs at the client’s workshop in Wales with accommodation and expenses provided; after training, duties shift to Scotland with travel to customer sites, on-call rota and opportunities to

Qualifications

• Strong electronics background with ONC/HNC or equivalent in Electronics Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience diagnosing faults on PCBs down to individual components (resistors, capacitors).
• Skilled in soldering, desoldering and electronic repairs.
• Proficient with test equipment: oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, multimeters.
• Willing to travel and stay away from home occasionally; full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, fault find and repair RF transmitters and related communications equipment to component level, including PCB repair and component replacement.
• Test, align and calibrate repaired equipment before return to service.
• Use electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators and spectrum analysers.
• Install, commission, maintain and upgrade communications systems and equipment.
• Support fault investigation and repair across customer and network sites when required.
• Participate in an out of hours support rota once fully trained.
