Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a Retail Security Officer to protect customers, staff and stock in a busy retail environment. You will deter theft, provide approachable customer service, monitor CCTV and respond to incidents with calm professionalism.

The role requires a valid SIA Licence, the right to work in the UK, and flexibility to work weekends and evenings. You will work five days a week, collaborating with store management and adhering to company procedures.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK is required.
• Valid SIA Licence (Door Supervisor or Security Guarding) and relevant security experience.
• Willing to undergo DBS and BS7858 clearance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to de-escalate situations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible security presence, deterring theft and anti-social behaviour
• Patrol the store and monitor CCTV for suspicious activity
• Respond to alarms and incidents, escalating where required
• Conduct searches in line with company procedures when necessary
• Complete accurate incident and observation reports
• Work closely with store management and staff on security matters
• Provide a professional and approachable presence
• Assist customers and staff with queries
• De-escalate challenging situations calmly
• Follow all site procedures, company policies and legal requirements
• Support the wider team and undertake additional duties as required
