Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a Retail Security Officer for Morrisons in Shrewsbury. You will deter theft, protect customers and staff, and respond to incidents in a busy retail environment.

Key requirements include an in-date SIA Licence (DS/Guard), DBS and BS7858 clearance eligibility, Right to Work in the UK, and excellent verbal and written communication. Flexibility for weekends and evenings is essential.

Qualifications

• Right to Work in the UK required and eligible for DBS and BS7858 clearance.
• Valid SIA Licence (DS or Security Guarding) with relevant security experience.
• Strong observational skills to identify suspicious behaviour.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for reporting and interactions.
• Flexible to work weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible security presence to deter theft and anti-social behaviour.
• Patrol the store and monitor CCTV for suspicious activity.
• Respond to alarms and incidents; escalate when required.
• Complete accurate incident and observation reports.
• Work closely with store management on security matters.
• Provide a professional and approachable presence; assist customers and staff.
• De-escalate challenging situations calmly.
• Follow all site procedures, company policies and legal requirements.
