Job summary

FGH Security is seeking a Retail Security Officer for Swatch in Newcastle upon Tyne. The role requires an SIA Licence and focuses on preventing loss, safeguarding assets, and delivering excellent customer service.

You will work a 4 on 4 off or ad-hoc schedule, with an hourly rate of £13.45 plus holiday pay. The team emphasises professional presentation and proactive, customer-focused security support.

Responsibilities

• Maintain in-store PPE (Radios, Body Cams, Pagers).
• Maintain a high level of vigilance throughout the shift whilst observing the store in a discreet manner.
• Patrolling and monitoring security cameras to ensure safety of customers and staff.
• Engage with customers and offer assistance as needed.
• Escort unwelcome customers from the site when required.
• Look out for abnormalities around the site.
• Report observations to store management and document appropriately.
• Protect assets and prevent loss.
• Deterrence of theft, vandalism and other criminal activity.
• Provide a welcoming environment for customers and staff.
• Respond promptly to security issues and enforce store policies.
• Handle difficult customers calmly and professionally.
• Report suspicious behaviour to authorities.
• Maintain incident records and provide detailed reports.

About The Role

Position: Retail Security Officer

Location: Swatch, Newcastle upon Tyne

Hourly Rate: £13.45 plus holiday pay (FGH Group operates a holiday accrual scheme in line with the government guidelines at 12.07%)

Schedule: 4 on 4 off or Ad-hoc available

We are seeking experienced and professional Security Officers with a natural talent for retail security to join us in Keeping People Safe at Swatch in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Swatch, JD Sports, Adidas, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Russel & Bromley enlist our highly trained security teams to provide excellent customer service and comprehensive protection of assets in their stores.

A valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence or SIA Security Guarding Licence is required for this role.

Your main duties will include:

• Maintain in-store PPE (Radios, Body Cams, Pagers).
• Maintain a high level of vigilance throughout the shift whilst observing the store in a discreet manner.
• Actively patrolling and monitoring security cameras to ensure the safety of all customers and staff
• Engaging with customers and offering assistance if needed.
• Engage and assist with escorting unwelcome customers from the site.
• Looking out for abnormalities around the site.
• Reporting any observation or actions to store management and documenting appropriately.
• Protection of assets/loss prevention.
• Protect stores from theft, vandalism, and other criminal activities.
• Provide a welcoming environment to all customers and staff.
• Respond promptly to any security issues that arise.
• Implement and enforce store policies and procedures.
• Handle difficult customers in a calm and professional manner.
• Report any suspicious behaviour or activity to the appropriate authorities.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents and provide detailed reports to management.
