Job summary

TSS is recruiting Retail Security Officers to join our teams across Somerset, including Shepton Mallet. This role welcomes both experienced guards and newcomers, with full paid training and an SIA license provided if needed.

You will act as a visible deterrent, protect staff and visitors, observe and report incidents, and follow fire and safety procedures. We offer ongoing development, regular reviews, and opportunities to progress within the company.

• Training provided for license if not held

Responsibilities

• Provide a visible uniformed deterrent and contribute to the safety of the client's premises and staff
• Enforce Company Policy on loss prevention and ensure staff safety
• Deter potential troublemakers on site
• Observe and report incidents using the correct reporting systems
• Carry out duties assigned by the client or manager
• Keep site knowledge up to date and identify local developments
• Understand and implement Fire and Safety evacuation procedures
• Assist with staff and contractor searches if required
• Ensure the security base is clean and tidy
• Maintain full uniform and display SIA licence clearly

Pay Rate: £16.20 per hour (TSS operates on site-based rates)

We are recruiting Retail Security Officers to join our teams across Somerset, with opportunities available across multiple locations and sites. This is an exciting opportunity whether you're experienced in security or looking to take your first step into the industry. If you are new in the security industry and currently don't hold license, TSS will provide you with full paid for training and an SIA license.

What You'll Be Doing

• To provide a visible uniformed deterrent, to contribute to the safety and security of the client's premises and staff
• To carry out Company Policy on loss prevention and ensure the safety of staff and visitors
• To lawfully deter potential troublemakers on site
• To observe and report incidents using the correct reporting systems
• To carry out all duties assigned by the client or manager to whom you are responsible
• To ensure site knowledge is kept up to date and developments at local level are identified
• To understand and implement any Fire and Safety evacuation procedures
• To assist, if required by the Client, with staff and contractor searches
• To ensure that the Security base is always maintained in a clean and tidy condition
• To conduct yourself, at all times, in a manner which will bring credit to yourself and the Company, ensuring full uniform is worn and SIA licence is clearly displayed
