Job summary

The Sutton Hotel Collection in Bath is seeking a Restaurant Reception Manager to lead the host team, welcome guests and coordinate with the dining team. This onsite role offers a salary of £33k-£35k plus service charge and a comprehensive benefits package.

Reporting to the Restaurant General Manager, you will guide the guest journey from booking to farewell, train staff, manage reservations, and ensure a seamless, memorable experience in our evolving restaurant.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication.
• Highly detailed and attentive with accurate records and schedules.
• In-depth knowledge of restaurant, bar, and hotel promotions.
• Exceptional customer service with a friendly, approachable demeanor.
• Strong organizational skills for fast-paced environments.
• Comfortable with ad hoc requests from guests or managers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the host team through breakfast, lunch and dinner.
• Welcoming guests, assigning bookings, and coordinating with the restaurant team.
• Oversee guest journey from booking to farewell and train hosts.
• Manage restaurant reservations and liaise with reception for seamless service.
• Know food and drinks offerings and promotions.
• Handle guest complaints.
• Record guest information and use it to enhance experience.
• Keep reception/host area tidy and reflective of brand values.
• Receive and plan event bookings with restaurant manager and head chef.
