A prominent UK arts university is seeking a Resources Librarian to manage library information systems and e-resources. The role involves close collaboration with Library staff and academic departments to ensure that library technologies support the educational experience of students. Candidates must hold a degree and a qualification in librarianship/information science. The successful applicant will also contribute to a diverse and inclusive environment. The Resources Librarian will be responsible for the library information infrastructure and e-resources. This includes the Library management system (Koha), Discovery service and web pages. The post holder will work closely with Library staff, Digital Services (IT), academic and other professional departments, to ensure that library technologies and online resources meet the needs of students and staff across the University.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic in contributing to our students' educational experience and supporting our academic staff. The role will require the need to be accurate, organised and able to prioritise workloads within a busy environment. Ideally, the post holder will also have an understanding of the HE sector and have previous experience within a similar environment.
Applicants need to have a degree level qualification and must hold a recognised qualification in librarianship/ information science. We welcome applications from recently qualified Library or Information Science graduates or those who will be completing their studies in the next three months.
