Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Resource Base Teacher for a welcoming primary school in Solihull. The role is full-time and fixed-term for one academic year, starting 1st September.

You will deliver personalised learning to a small class of around 7 pupils, supported by experienced Teaching Assistants, focusing on learners with complex needs and a range of SEN.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
• Familiarity with Early Years material and phonics approaches such as Little Wandle.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with teaching assistants.

Full‑Time | Fixed‑Term (1 Year) | Start Date: 1st September

Are you an experienced and compassionate SEN Teacher looking for a rewarding new opportunity this September? We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school in Solihull for a dedicated Resource Base Teacher to join their specialist provision on a full‑time, fixed‑term basis for one academic year, starting 1st September.

The Role

• Monday to Friday, 8:15 am – 4:00 pm
• Teaching a small class of approximately 7 pupils
• Supported by 3 experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistants
• Planning and delivering personalised learning to meet a range of complex learning needs
• Creating a safe, engaging and nurturing learning environment where every child can thrive

Resource Base supports pupils with a variety of additional needs, including:

• Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
• Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
• Complex learning needs
• pupil requires the use of a hoist for moving and handling – supported by trained Teaching Assistants who carry out the hoisting procedures

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Previous experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs
• Team Teach training (desirable)
• Experience delivering an Early Years curriculum to pupils working below age‑related expectations
• Knowledge of Little Wandle Phonics
• Confidence using learning through play, movement‑based learning, sensory interventions and communication‑focused teaching strategies
• A nurturing, patient and child‑centred approach
• An understanding of therapies and interventions that support children with complex needs
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
