Resource Base Teacher – Solihull
Full‑Time | Fixed‑Term (1 Year) | Start Date: 1st September
Are you an experienced and compassionate SEN Teacher looking for a rewarding new opportunity this September? We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school in Solihull for a dedicated Resource Base Teacher to join their specialist provision on a full‑time, fixed‑term basis for one academic year, starting 1st September.
The Role
- Monday to Friday, 8:15 am – 4:00 pm
- Teaching a small class of approximately 7 pupils
- Supported by 3 experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistants
- Planning and delivering personalised learning to meet a range of complex learning needs
- Creating a safe, engaging and nurturing learning environment where every child can thrive
Resource Base supports pupils with a variety of additional needs, including:
- Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Complex learning needs
- pupil requires the use of a hoist for moving and handling – supported by trained Teaching Assistants who carry out the hoisting procedures
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Previous experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs
- Team Teach training (desirable)
- Experience delivering an Early Years curriculum to pupils working below age‑related expectations
- Knowledge of Little Wandle Phonics
- Confidence using learning through play, movement‑based learning, sensory interventions and communication‑focused teaching strategies
- A nurturing, patient and child‑centred approach
- An understanding of therapies and interventions that support children with complex needs
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
