Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Birmingham is seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to join the resource base of a welcoming mainstream primary school from 1st September 2026. You will lead a small specialist class of 5 pupils with complex needs, supported by three Teaching Assistants to enable personalised learning.

The role requires QTS, prior SEN experience, and the ability to plan, assess, and adapt lessons while collaborating with the SENCO and school staff to secure the best outcomes.

Qualifications

• QTS required and experience teaching children with SEN.
• Experience leading a SEN class including planning, assessment and marking.
• Ability to support pupils with complex needs and personal care requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead teaching and learning within the resource base.
• Plan, deliver and adapt engaging lessons for complex SEN needs.
• Complete planning, assessment and marking to school standards.
• Collaborate with Teaching Assistants, the SENCO and staff to secure best outcomes.
• Create an inclusive, structured learning environment for every pupil.
