Job summary

Smile Education Recruitment is seeking a skilled SEN Teaching Assistant for a mainstream primary in Wednesfield, West Midlands. You will support a Year 1 pupil 1:1, assisting with ASC/ADHD and non-verbal needs, and tailor activities to individual learners. Working hours 8:30am–3:30pm, term-time only, with a daily rate of £90–£120 plus SEN allowance.

The role offers immediate or September start, with potential for permanent positions and robust school-based experience.

Qualifications

  • Providing tailored support to pupils with additional learning needs.
  • Supporting children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and non-verbal communication needs.
  • Delivering interventions and adapting learning activities to meet individual needs.

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and wider support staff to ensure every child reaches their potential.

£90–£120 per day - with SEN allowance!

8:30am–3:30pm | Term-Time Only

We are looking for a rare individual with a vareity of SEN/SEMH experience to work 1:1 with a child in Year 1. You'll be confident in utilising communication tools and have experience with personal care and be intensive interaction trained. The school is a wonderful catholic primary school with a welcoming enviornment who will support you every step of the way.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Providing tailored support to pupils with additional learning needs
  • Supporting children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and non-verbal communication needs
  • Delivering interventions and adapting learning activities to meet individual needs
  • Encouraging confidence, independence and positive engagement in learning
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and wider support staff to ensure every child reaches their potential
We're Looking For:
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Previous experience working with children within a UK Primary School
  • Experience supporting a Reception class
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly Autism, ADHD or non-verbal children (highly desirable)
  • A patient, resilient and caring approach
  • A genuine passion for helping children succeed
