Job summary

Compass Community is hiring a Residential Support Worker to join a children’s home in the UK. The role is suitable for experienced Residential/Youth Workers or newcomers building a career in residential care.

You will undergo Skills to Care induction with two weeks classroom training and a week of shadow shifts, and you will be supported to achieve your Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare within 12 months, becoming Level 3 qualified.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 22 years old to meet Ofsted regulations.
• Caring, compassionate and able to build positive relationships.
• Valid manual driving licence.
• Ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
• Previous experience not required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Help facilitate children’s activities and appointments, supporting them in all aspects of their lives.
• Ensure their health and wellbeing, safeguarding them at all times.
• Meet a variety of children and young people with varying supervision needs.
• Support the wider team with domestic tasks such as cleaning, cooking, and food shopping.
• Create timetables, manage paperwork and write reports.
