Job summary

Sanctuary Housing Association is seeking a Housing Officer based in Birmingham to cover Birmingham, Solihull and Sandwell. The role offers a salary of £34,235 per year plus a £600 car allowance pro rata and 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm.

This temporary position is for up to six months. You will deliver high-quality housing management services, respond to tenancy and occupancy queries, visit properties, and work with residents and partners to improve services and communities

Qualifications

• Proven experience of undertaking a similar housing role.
• Experience delivering tenancy services.
• Analytical problem-solving and solution implementation.
• Excellent communication and customer care skills.
• Experience with resident involvement activities.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and good practice.
• Full driving licence and own vehicle for business use.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality housing management service.
• Respond to tenancy, leases, service charges and occupancy queries.
• Build positive relationships with residents and involve them in improving services and communities.
• Regularly visit properties and estates to maintain safe, clean and well‑managed homes.
• Respond to anti-social behaviour and neighbour disputes per policy.
• Work with colleagues and external partners to ensure residents get appropriate help.
• Support safety and legal requirements including fire safety, water hygiene, gas safety and data protection.
