Job summary

Sanctuary Housing Association is recruiting two Housing Officers based in Birmingham, covering Birmingham, Solihull and Sandwell. The role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, temporary for up to 6 months. Salary £34,235 per year plus £600 car allowance pro rata.

Regular visits to customers and communities form part of the duties. You will deliver a high-quality housing management service, resolve tenancy issues, and work with partners to improve services.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a similar housing officer role.
• Experience delivering tenancy services to a high standard.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer care skills.
• Experience with resident involvement activities.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Knowledge of applicable regulations and good practice.
• Full valid driving licence and own vehicle for business use.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear, practical advice to tenants and leaseholders about rights and responsibilities.
• Handle enquiries around tenancies, leases, service charges and occupancy.
• Build positive relationships with residents and involve them in improving services.
• Regularly visit properties to identify issues and maintain safe, clean homes.
• Respond to anti-social behaviour and neighbour disputes per policy.
• Collaborate with colleagues and external agencies to ensure appropriate help, including safeguarding and wellbeing.
• Support safety and legal requirements across teams (fire safety, water/gas safety, data protection).
