Job summary

Mears Group in London (Rainham) is seeking a Planner to join our repairs team. This office-based role focuses on scheduling, allocating work to operatives, and ensuring timely completion of repairs with strong customer service and compliance. You will be the key link between residents, operatives, and colleagues.

The role requires proactive planning, good IT skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to maintain high service standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in scheduling multi-trade repairs.
• Proven ability to allocate work orders to trades.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.
• Knowledge of repairs and maintenance processes.

Responsibilities

• Schedule operatives and subcontractors to ensure repairs are delivered on time.
• Monitor daily repair progress and follow-on works.
• Support IT systems and ensure PDAs and schedule entries are accurate.
• Communicate clearly with residents, operatives and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with admins, supervisors and contractors to ensure a seamless service.
• Attend meetings or training sessions as required.
• Assist with reporting and KPI monitoring to meet targets.
• Prioritise emergency and urgent jobs to minimise disruption for residents.
• Maintain records for audits and compliance.
• Suggest ways to streamline planning and scheduling for continuous service improvements.
• Provide general administrative support to the repairs team.
