Job summary

Mears Group’s MPS division in Tonbridge is recruiting a Planner to join the local repairs team. You will schedule repairs, allocate work to operatives and subcontractors, and act as a key point of contact for residents.

The role emphasizes customer care, safety and high-quality outcomes, with a 42.5-hour week, permanent contract, and a focus on efficient use of resources and ICT systems such as the MCM platform.

Qualifications

• Experience in planning, scheduling or coordination within repairs and maintenance or similar environment.
• GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
• Experience in fast-paced, reactive, customer-focused environment.
• Good IT skills with job management, scheduling systems.
• Strong time management and organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Clear and confident written and verbal communication.
• Customer-focused approach to queries and challenging situations.
• Understanding of repairs and maintenance processes.
• Experience planning and scheduling multi-trade repairs using ICT systems.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and plan repair works for efficient use of operatives and resources.
• Use MCM system to manage appointments, update job statuses and monitor progress.
• Track overdue tasks and support the team to meet KPIs.
• Coordinate operatives and subcontractors to ensure timely completion.
• Communicate with residents to provide updates and manage expectations.
• Identify and escalate operational issues as needed.
• Monitor workloads and plan cover for absences and holidays.
• Allocate work to subcontractors and raise material orders per procurement procedures.
• Ensure correct use of IT systems, including PDAs and portals.
• Maintain clear records across all systems.
• Deliver a professional, courteous, customer-focused service.
• Adhere to health and safety and company policies.
• Collaborate with colleagues to meet service delivery standards.
• Provide cover for other planners when required.
• Attend meetings and training sessions.
