Job summary

Wates Smartspace is seeking an experienced Repairs Manager in Birmingham to lead the delivery of responsive maintenance services. You will manage a multi-disciplinary team, ensure works are completed safely and to high standards, and drive service improvements across the contract.

The role requires a proven leader with strong commercial sense, experience in reactive maintenance, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. A proactive approach to safety and quality is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large teams in responsive maintenance or social housing.
• Strong knowledge of reactive maintenance operations and contract delivery.
• Excellent communication and ability to influence at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a team of Supervisors, Administrators, Planners and Operatives.
• Drive customer satisfaction and continuously improve service delivery.
• Oversee scheduling and delivery of large multi-trade repairs with appropriate resources.
• Manage operational performance, productivity and quality across the contract.
• Ensure policies and procedures are followed across the workforce.
• Collaborate with Commercial teams to resolve invoicing issues and improve contract performance.
• Champion Health & Safety compliance and foster a positive safety culture.
• Build strong relationships with clients, customers and stakeholders.
• Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
