Job summary

Wates Smartspace in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Repairs Manager to lead responsive maintenance for the WPS business, delivering safe, high-quality works and exceptional customer service.

You will build and motivate teams of Supervisors, Administrators, Planners and Operatives, drive KPI performance and continuous improvement across the contract.

This role requires strong leadership, Health & Safety expertise, budget management and outstanding stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience in Repairs Manager or similar role within responsive maintenance, repairs or social housing.
• Strong knowledge of reactive maintenance operations.
• Proven track record managing large maintenance contracts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a team of Supervisors, Administrators, Planners and Operatives.
• Drive customer satisfaction and continuously improve service delivery.
• Oversee scheduling and delivery of large multi-trade repairs with proper resources.
• Manage operational performance, productivity and quality across the contract.
• Ensure policies and procedures are followed across the workforce.
• Work with Commercial teams to resolve invoicing issues and maximise contract performance.
• Champion Health & Safety compliance and create a positive safety culture.
• Build relationships with clients, customers and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor performance against KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
