Job summary

Wates Smartspace is seeking a Supervisor in London to lead a team delivering responsive repairs across Voids, Disrepair, Day-to-Day Repairs and Planned Works. You will support the Project Lead, manage operatives, administrators, and subcontractors while driving performance and customer satisfaction.

The role requires strong leadership, a solid Health & Safety background, and a proactive approach. DBS may be required; you will need a valid UK driving licence and SSSTS as a baseline qualification.

Qualifications

• Background in responsive repairs and experience managing operatives.
• Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.
• Solid understanding of Health & Safety principles and compliance.
• Minimum SSSTS qualification; SMSTS or IOSH preferred.
• Experience in housing maintenance and site management.
• Commercial awareness and ability to manage budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support your team to meet KPIs and service standards.
• Manage scheduling, inspections, and quality control.
• Conduct 1-2-1s, toolbox talks, and team meetings.
• Liaise with clients and produce performance reports.
• Oversee health & safety across activities.
• Support onboarding, training and development of staff.
