Job summary

Turnitin is hiring a Global Controller to lead the worldwide accounting function, ensuring compliant financial operations across geographies and verticals. You will partner with executive leadership to drive strategic finance initiatives, automation, and high-performance teams.

You’ll oversee statutory reporting, audit, tax, treasury, and internal controls while delivering timely financial insights to the Board and senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in spearheading finance system modernization and automation.
• 10+ years of progressive finance leadership with global teams.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance with CPA/CA.
• Deep expertise in US/Global GAAP and ASC revenue recognition.
• Strong knowledge of US tax accounting principles.
• Ability to drive agile execution across complex priorities.
• Ability to translate financial concepts to executives (CLT) and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience partnering with operational leaders in tech/SaaS environments.
• Experience leading remote/global finance teams.
• Familiarity with finance technology and automation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership to elevate global accounting to a value-add center of excellence.
• Architect organizational design for scalable finance capability across geographies.
• Build high-performing, empowered teams across core accounting pillars.
• Drive end-to-end global accounting strategy including reporting, tax, treasury, and compliance.
• Partner with CLT to establish governance and robust controls.
• Standardize SOPs and mitigate risk with global compliance initiatives.
• Lead audits with external firms and ensure reporting integrity.
• Deliver timely, data-driven insights and board-level reporting.
• Oversee M&A integration and improve internal controls with automation.
• Champion continuous improvement and modernize finance processes.
