Job summary

Actian is seeking a highly technical Tech Lead to guide a small feature team. This role is hands-on, with a focus on building robust backend systems using a modern SaaS stack (Scala, Python, TypeScript). You will ship features, lead by example, and drive product value while leveraging AI coding agents to boost output.

You will mentor 3–4 engineers, own technical execution, ensure cloud scalability, and collaborate closely with Product Managers to turn ambitious ideas into concrete tasks.

Qualifications

• Deep backend engineering experience building and scaling cloud-native SaaS platforms.
• Proven production proficiency in Scala; Python and/or TypeScript are a plus.
• Extensive experience using AI coding agents in day-to-day work and reviewing AI-generated code.

Responsibilities

• Write high-quality backend code and tackle the most complex technical challenges.
• Guide team direction using Scala for backend services and TypeScript for full-stack features.
• Promote and use AI coding agents to accelerate delivery without compromising quality.
