Job summary

Open Cosmos Ltd. is seeking a software engineer for its Data Division to design, implement and validate satellite flight software. You will work across Linux and RTOS environments, integrate with ground tools, and ensure robust, traceable software throughout the development lifecycle.

Join a cross-functional team tackling space missions with secure coding practices, CI/CD pipelines, and continuous improvement across the software stack.

Qualifications

• Strong programming capability in Rust, or solid understanding in C or C++ with ability to transition to Rust.
• Proficiency in Linux development environments, scripting and command-line tooling.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (GitLab, Jenkins, Docker, pytest).
• Secure coding and fault-tolerant design principles for mission-critical software.
• Knowledge of RTOS concepts and embedded/space software environments.

Responsibilities

• Designing, implementing, validating, and maintaining satellite flight software.
• Supporting ground tools and ensuring software is robust and traceable.
• Developing features for Linux and RTOS-based systems in line with requirements.
• Participating in code reviews, testing campaigns, and CI/CD processes.
• Maintaining configuration control and full software traceability.
• Collaborating with Systems, Electronics, and Mission Operations teams.
• Contributing to post-launch operations and integration activities.
• Driving continuous improvement in architecture, design, and engineering processes.
