Job summary

Open Cosmos Ltd. is seeking a software engineer to design, implement and maintain satellite flight software across Linux and RTOS platforms. You will work closely with Systems, Electronics and Mission Operations teams to deliver reliable data tooling and mission-critical software.

The role emphasizes secure coding, robust testing, and end-to-end traceability, with a strong focus on cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement in software architecture for space missions.

Qualifications

• Experience in Rust or transition from C/C++ for production systems.
• Proficiency in Linux development and scripting.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and automation tools for reliable delivery.
• Knowledge of secure coding and fault-tolerant design.
• Understanding of RTOS in embedded and space environments.
• Awareness of ECSS and aerospace software standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, validate and maintain satellite flight software.
• Support ground tools ensuring robustness and traceability.
• Develop features for Linux and RTOS-based systems per requirements.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and CI/CD to maintain quality.
• Maintain configuration control and full software traceability.
• Collaborate with Systems, Electronics, and Mission Operations teams.
• Contribute to post-launch operations and integration activities.
• Drive continuous improvement in architecture and processes.
