Job summary

Version 1 is seeking a strategic, systems-minded Service Designer to join our growing design capability. You’ll work at the heart of multidisciplinary teams to shape end-to-end services that are accessible, efficient, and centred around real user needs.

Service Designers at Version 1 work across the full-service lifecycle, from discovery through to live. You’ll map current and future states, align delivery with policy and operations, and design services that improve people’s lives.

Qualifications

• Strong fundamentals of service design and ability to translate insights into action.
• Ability to run workshops and facilitate collaborative sessions.
• Comfort with ambiguity and strategic thinking for scalable solutions.
• Champion accessibility and inclusion in design work.
• Clear communicator adapting to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Set and align around a clear service vision with teams and stakeholders.
• Plan and run workshops that drive alignment, clarity, and decisions.
• Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams to co-create solutions.
• Work within agile, multidisciplinary teams to deliver iteratively.
• Make complexity visible using service blueprints and journey maps.
• Use data and performance metrics to inform design decisions and measure success.
