Job summary

Turnitin is seeking an SQE1 to join our Quality Engineering team and own testing across web applications. You will design, write, execute, and maintain automated and manual tests, partnering with developers, product managers, and other QA engineers in an Agile scrum environment.

You will advance test strategies, participate in CI/CD pipelines, and explore AI-driven testing capabilities to improve efficiency and coverage, while delivering high-quality user experiences across multiple platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of experience in software quality engineering.
• Hands-on experience in UI Web Automation and API Automation using Java, Python, Jenkins, Docker, Maven, GitHub.
• Strong understanding of STLC, QA concepts, methodologies, and test management.
• CI/CD/CT with Jenkins, Git, and related tools.
• Experience with Agile (Scrum & Kanban) and test data management.
• Proactive use of AI-driven testing capabilities to improve coverage.

Responsibilities

• Test Strategy & Planning: define QA practices and assets.
• Test Execution: design and maintain automated and manual tests.
• Development Collaboration: support code releases with functional validations on multiple platforms.
• Defect Management: investigate, triage, verify and close defects.
• Risk Mitigation: identify risks early and plan mitigations.
