Job summary

Turnitin, LLC invites applications for a Software Quality Engineer I to join our Quality Engineering team. You design, write, execute, and maintain automated and manual tests, contributing to test automation frameworks and continuous testing pipelines.

You’ll collaborate with product managers and developers in an Agile Scrum environment to provide rapid testing results and drive quality improvements. You’ll partner with Scrum teams to define quality strategies and execute across platforms,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of experience in software quality engineering.
• Hands-on UI and API automation experience using Java, Python, and established frameworks.
• Strong understanding of STLC and QA concepts; experience with CI/CD/CT tools.
• Experience in Agile environments (Scrum & Kanban) with test data estimation.
• Proactive in researching AI-driven QA tools to improve efficiency and coverage.

Responsibilities

• Design, write, execute, and maintain automated and manual tests across platforms.
• Partner with Scrum team to define QA strategies, plans, and test cases.
• Collaborate with development to validate releases and manage defects.
• Identify quality risks early and contribute to mitigation plans.
• Contribute to modern QA approaches, AI-assisted test generation, and smart automation.
