Job summary

Turnitin is seeking a Software Quality Engineer I to join the Quality Engineering team. You will design, write, and maintain automated and manual tests, and help shape the test automation framework in an Agile environment.

You'll partner with software developers, product managers, and fellow testers to validate releases across platforms, drive continuous testing, and apply AI‑driven tools to improve coverage and efficiency. A Bachelors degree and 4+ years experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent with 4+ years in software quality engineering.
• Hands-on UI and API automation using established frameworks (Java, Python).
• Strong understanding of STLC, QA concepts, and test management.
• Experience with CI/CD/CT tools (Jenkins, Git).
• Agile practices in Scrum or Kanban and data-driven testing, AI-assisted testing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define QA strategy, plans, and test assets with the Scrum team.
• Design, write, execute, and maintain automated and manual tests.
• Collaborate with developers to validate releases across environments.
• Investigate and triage defects to closure, mitigate risks.
• Explore modern QA tools and AI-driven testing to improve coverage.
