Job Overview

Relief Security Officer for Plymouth and surrounding areas. You must have your own vehicle and a driver’s licence. Shift patterns are flexible and work may be required at multiple locations. The rate is £13.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all policies, legal and regulatory requirements, as directed by the Security Account Manager and UK law.
• Complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AI’s).
• Review the Assignment Instructions for changes and suggest improvements to enhance service quality.
• Hold the required front‑line licence in Security Guarding or Door Supervision and a CCTV PSS SIA Licence, renewing them 16 weeks before expiry.
• Comply with all legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.
• Follow instructions and procedures without unnecessarily challenging authority.
• Work methodically, systematically and in an orderly manner.
• Complete all required competency training and pursue additional training as directed by the Security Account Manager.
• Use technology to achieve key work objectives and continually develop job knowledge and expertise.
• Keep accurate, detailed incident records and use them in the Incident Report process.
• Maintain professional conduct in challenging situations and with difficult customers.
• Ensure check calls are made at the allocated time slot as specified in the Assignment Instructions.
• Call emergency services or the Communication Centre to report all incidents.

Security and Health & Safety

Look out for and immediately report any Health & Safety hazards or potential hazards on site. Stay alert to threats or changes in the work environment and take appropriate action to reduce risk. Use common sense and initiative to involve others if a situation becomes threatening.
