Job summary

Wellspring Academy Trust in Horncastle invites applications for a relief assistant caretaker. The role is casual with zero-hours contracts and involves covering staff absences, holidays, or busy periods to keep the school environment clean, safe and welcoming for pupils and staff.

You will perform cleaning, basic caretaking duties, and minor DIY repairs under supervision, while adhering to health and safety standards and safeguarding policies.

Qualifications

• Reliable, hardworking individual who maintains a safe, clean environment for pupils and staff.
• Comfortable with practical and physical work, including basic maintenance and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Taking responsibility for cleaning specified areas, following the Trust's standards and methods.
• Carrying out caretaking duties including minor DIY repairs to the building fabric or equipment.
• Safely storing all cleaning equipment and materials after use.
• Proactively reporting any equipment faults, issues, or material shortages to your supervisor.
• Participating in required staff training to ensure health and safety, COSHH and safeguarding standards are met.
