Job summary

Wellspring Academy Trust is seeking a reliable relief assistant caretaker to join our estates team at Lacey Gardens Junior Academy. The role is casual with zero-hours contracts, covering staff absences and peak periods, and no prior experience is required as full training is provided.

You will perform cleaning, basic maintenance, and report faults, while ensuring health and safety, safeguarding, and COSHH compliance. A flexible, practical team player is ideal for this role.

Qualifications

• Reliable, hardworking individual who can maintain a safe, clean environment for pupils and staff.
• Practical and physical work aptitude, including basic maintenance and repairs.
• Willingness to follow Health & Safety guidelines, safeguarding policies and COSHH requirements.
• Flexible and available for relief shift work as and when required.

Responsibilities

• Taking responsibility for cleaning specified areas following standards and methods.
• Carrying out caretaking duties including minor DIY repairs to building fabric or equipment.
• Safely storing all cleaning equipment and materials after use.
• Reporting faults, issues or shortages to supervisor.
• Participating in required staff training to ensure health and safety standards are met.
