Job summary

Social Interest Group is hiring a Support Coach in Havering to help residents recently released from prison reintegrate into the community. You will develop tailored support plans, assess needs and goals, and motivate residents through one-to-one and group activities across day and evening shifts.

You will manage a caseload, maintain relationships with residents, and coordinate with the team to ensure safety, risk management, and adherence to license conditions.

Qualifications

• Ability to manage own caseload and set priorities with time management.
• Experience working with people of complex backgrounds, ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, or related challenges.
• IT proficiency and ability to learn new software, basic Microsoft experience.
• Understanding and/or practical application of key legislation regarding social care, housing, criminal justice and mental health.
• Cultural awareness and self-awareness, with willingness to grow.
• Alignment with values of Ambition, Empowerment, Inclusivity, and Transparency.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and wellbeing of residents at all times.
• Engage with residents and support adherence to license conditions; plan activities.
• Be a reliable team member; handover to night colleagues for seamless service.
