Job description

The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for a Registered Nurse. The Registered Nurse will function in the Veterans Addiction Recovery Center (VARC) section within Nursing Psychiatry Service.

Responsibilities
  • Serves as a role model in assessing and evaluating patient status and prioritizes care based on patient acuity and identified needs.
  • Demonstrates leadership with groups in developing appropriate patient centered plan of care. Develops the initial nursing plan and updates the plan, serving as a resource person to less experienced staff, and acts as a leader in developing standards of care.
  • Includes patient/family/significant other/health care provider in establishing realistic, measurable goals related to health education and treatment plan and in planning care on a continuum; assists staff in the process of mutual goal setting.
  • Utilizes problem solving methodologies to resolve problems that impact on patient care or staff performance at the unit or work group level.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills and professional behaviors that promote cooperation and interdisciplinary team work.
