Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a Regional Bank Chef to support our homes across the South West and Midlands. You will oversee culinary teams, plan nutritionally balanced menus, and ensure meals meet dietary needs while maintaining budget.

You should have at least five years of kitchen management, NVQ 3 in Food Production or City & Guilds catering qualifications, knowledge of health and safety, COSHH, and IDDSI/truncated diets.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a busy kitchen and leading a team across multiple sites.
• Knowledge of health and safety, COSHH and food safety legislation.
• Trained in IDDSI / textured modified diets and relevant catering qualifications.
• Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate leadership qualities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritionally balanced menu plans for approval by Home Manager, providing varied meals.
• Take account of any special dietary needs and retain records for inspection purposes.
• Place food orders with approved suppliers within budget and ensure quality within budget limits.
• Supervise and direct the work of kitchen staff and host team; instruct unqualified staff in basic prep.
• Demonstrate safe food handling and uphold high hygiene standards per the Food Safety Management system.
