Job summary

Welford Healthcare is seeking a Regional Support Manager to provide hands-on operational and clinical support across multiple care homes. You will work with Home Managers to ensure smooth, compliant operations, sustaining high resident and relative satisfaction while guiding improvements.

The role is autonomous with influence over service delivery, requiring extensive regional travel and strong leadership to maintain Good CQC standards and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of CQC expectations and good-rated homes in practice.
• Senior care home management experience (Home Manager/Deputy/Clinical Lead).
• Experience in large care home environments and HR investigations.
• Proven stability and longevity in prior roles.
• Experience attending multi-disciplinary meetings and safeguarding investigations.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site support to Home Managers to reach Good CQC ratings.
• Develop and monitor action plans after inspections and audits.
• Track progress monthly and ensure timely completion.
• Support safeguarding investigations and attend meetings as required.
• Maintain high occupancy and drive private occupancy where possible.
• Assist with payroll management, cost control, and workforce planning.
• Review reports and translate findings into actionable steps.
• Support monthly QA requirements and ensure evidence meets expectations.
• Conduct audits and produce clear summary reports.
• Provide operational and clinical support during challenges or changes.
• Offer peripatetic management cover and support underperforming services.
• Act as emergency contact when Home Managers are on leave.
• Support induction and development of new Home Managers.
• Attend CQC inspections and relevant meetings.
• Participate in weekly regional support calls and forums.
