National Highways is seeking a Control Room Operator for the Regional Operations Centre in Birmingham. You will monitor traffic, manage incidents, and coordinate with police and emergency services to safeguard road users.

The role requires you to work 24/7 shifts across early, late, night rotations, and weekends as scheduled. Strong communication, calmness under pressure, and comfort with new technologies are essential.

Formación

• GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent.
• Prepared to work shifts as part of a 24/7 cover.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor live traffic conditions using CCTV cameras, sensors and real-time feeds to track traffic flow and incidents.
• Coordinate incident response: dispatch traffic officers, alert emergency services, and set up road closures/diversions.
• Provide accurate information to road users by updating digital signs and coordinating with traffic information services.
• Collaborate with police, fire services and local authorities to manage incidents and ensure road user safety.
• Coordinate road maintenance and construction activities to minimize disruption and ensure safety.
