Job summary

Malvern Hills and Wychavon District Councils is seeking an experienced Refuse & Recycling Team Leader (HGV Refuse Driver) to supervise a collection crew, manage vehicles and resources, and ensure safe, efficient refuse and recycling collection in line with service standards.

The role requires strong people leadership, sound judgment, and good written and oral communication. You will make day-to-day operational decisions, liaise with staff and the public, and uphold health and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and best practice.
• Experience of driving class C vehicles.
• Experience in delivering customer-facing services.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a collection crew and manage allocated vehicles and resources.
• Make day-to-day operational decisions to meet service delivery requirements.
• Liaise with team members and the public to ensure efficient service.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and safe systems of work.
