Job summary

Vets Now Kilmarnock is looking for a Veterinary Receptionist to join our emergency team on a part-time fixed-term basis for one year. The role involves greeting clients, handling calls, processing payments and supporting the veterinary team during critical care.

Working pattern includes alternating weeks with evening hours and weekend commitments as outlined. We offer 7 weeks pro rata annual leave, a birthday day off, cash health plan, staff discounts, CPD allowance and a competitive benefits

Qualifications

• Experience in front-line reception or customer service within a busy environment.
• Excellent communication and greeting skills for diverse clients.
• Ability to handle payments and administrative tasks accurately.

Role Overview

• Be the face of Emergency and Critical Care services:
  • Receptionists are the first point of contact during emergencies, handling calls, greeting clients, and managing financial transactions.
• Provide updates:
  • Relay information to the veterinary team about patients enroute to the clinic or clients in need of assistance.
• Handle administration duties:
  • Perform administrative tasks accurately.

Working pattern

Week 1: OFF

Week 2: Monday 18:00-22:00 and Thursday 18:00-22:00

Week 3: Wednesday 18:00-22:00 and Friday 18:00-22:00

Week 4: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 18:00-22:00 and Sunday 08:00-18:00
