Job summary

Vets Now Kilmarnock is seeking a Part Time Veterinary Receptionist to join our emergency pet care team. You will be the first point of contact for clients in emergencies, greet patients, answer calls and book appointments while handling transactions.

This role supports the clinic operations and ensures a smooth, caring experience for every visitor. In addition to a welcoming presence, you will assist with administrative tasks and liaise between clients and veterinary professionals.

Qualifications

• Experience in reception/administration roles, ideally in veterinary or medical settings.
• Strong communication and people skills.
• Ability to handle cash and appointments accurately.

Responsibilities

• Serve as initial contact for clients during emergencies, greet all clients, answer calls, book appointments and handle transactions.
• Manage clinic administration and provide updates to veterinary staff.

Role Overview

• First point of contact:
  • Serve as an initial point of contact for clients during emergency situations, whether through calls or in person visits. Including greeting all clients, answering calls, and booking appointments as well as handling financial transactions.
• Administration:
  • Manage administrative duties in clinic accurately, ensuring the smooth operation of the service.
  • Providing updates to veterinary staff about patients enroute or clients requiring assistance.
• Client Support:
  • Be a friendly and reassuring presence, offering support and information when clients need it most.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and veterinary professionals.

Working pattern

Week 1: Tuesday and Friday from 18:00 to 23:00

Week 2: Monday and Tuesday from 18:00 to 23:00 and Saturday and Sunday from 18:00 to 00:00

Week 3: Tuesday from 18:00 to 23:00

Week 4: Monday and Tuesday from 18:00 to 23:0 and Saturday and Sunday from 18:00 to 00:00

Plus, a fair share of bank holidays.
