Job summary

CaterPeople is seeking an experienced Receptionist for a luxury hotel in Ripon. You will greet guests, assist with reservations, and carry out payment transactions while working with the restaurant manager to run shifts.

The successful candidate will be PC literate with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word, and possess excellent communication and presentation skills, plus punctuality and reliability for a collaborative team environment.

About the Hotel

This country house hotel dates back to the 17th century and stayed within the same family for over 200 years until the early 1990's, since then this country house has entertained Queen Mary, became a convalescence home for injured soldiers in the Second World War, a adult training centre and then became a private residence until 2015 when it was privately purchased to undergo a multi mullion pound transformation into Yorkshire's latest luxury Relais & Chateaux hotel.

Working as a Receptionist

As a receptionist you will continuously improve and enhance the service to guests, with enthusiasm and passion to work in a friendly and engaging restaurant team.

You will be responsible for greeting all guests (resident or non-resident), working alongside the restaurant manager and assistant manager to run shifts, organising table reservations, carry out payment transactions, provide first class customer service with excellent communication skills, both face to face and over the telephone.

The successful person will have worked in a similar role within a high-level hotel or fine dining restaurant, PC Literate, understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word, be able to react to guests requests efficiently and have strong written and oral communication skills along with outstanding personal presentation and grooming.

In addition to your excellent customer service skills, you should be a punctual and reliable team player with strong communication skills, a self driven approach, and a positive 'can do' attitude.
